Cosy Corner Beach WA

While free camping is not for everyone, we find it works for us depending on the location and our needs when we’re looking to set up.

Cosy Corner (East) was the perfect place to settle for a while, as part of our month long stretch working from anywhere in 2019. The campground is situated 35 km west of Albany and is run by the Shire. It’s a free bush camp with 24 camp bays (9 suitable for caravans), well maintained, long drop toilets, a cold beach shower in the lower car park, well protected from the wind and easily accessible by 2WD. You’ll need to be self sufficient if you’re going to camp here and you can only stay for a maximum of 7 days. Suited us, cause we had most of the gear and 7 days was long enough without a real shower (I did sneak a hot shower in at the Public Ablutions though when we went into Albany to top up supplies).

What we liked most about this sweet little spot is that you don’t get too many big rigs in there, it’s just a short stroll to the stunning beach, the campground is dog friendly and the internet speed was cranking enabling us to be productive when needed ….. perfect work / life balance for us!
